About cerebral palsy is manifest in children as physical disability through impaired muscle tone, posture and ody movement. Beside the disorders of motor functions, the following disorders about cerebral palsy depending on the location of the injury to the brain often accompanies the cerebral palsy.
Related disorders about cerebral palsy is visual disorders, like squinting, involuntary movement or tremors of the eye and nystagmus. These disorders occur in 50 percent of all children with cerebral plasy. Beside the motor and sensory disorder, this will cause problems in developing adequate eye – hand coordination.
The common hearing defects in cerebral palsy children is 25 percent. Speech disorders occur in 89 percent of athetoid cerebral palsy, 85 percent of ataxic cerebral palsy, 72 percent of rigidity cerebral palsy and 52 of spastic cerebral palsy. The problems about cerebral palsy related disorder with sensory and tactile senses appear in approximately 42 percent of all children with cerebral palsy.
Mental retardation is common in 36 percent of children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy, 70 percent of children with a quadriplegic and 31 percent of children with athetoid cerebral palsy has a lower IQ. Behaviour disorders are 4 to 5 times more visible in cerebral palsy children. Epilepsy is seen in 30 percent of all children with cerebral palsy. Feeding and oral / dental are also problematic in children with cerebral palsy.
